"For us Green Ridge Village is the ultimate solution, a wonderful place to spend our retirement years

"A beautiful, spacious campus with lots of trees and a beautiful home attracted us. The many amenities, and the sense of family and mutual respect among staff and residents continue to validate our decision.

"Historic Carlisle is home to the Army War College which offers commissary, PX and pharmacy. The area abounds with educational, cultural and recreational opportunities. We really do love where we live."

"The proximity of Carlisle Barracks with PX, commissary, and pharmacy fulfilled one of our retirement community search requirements.

"Within a short driving distance there is  something for everyone and you can experience concerts, plays, museums, educational opportunities and great restaurants.

"As part of a small military contingent living here, my wife and I continue to be impressed with the diversity of professional backgrounds held by fellow residents.

"Fair winds and following seas have finally brought us home.”

“It has been a financially good decision to move here because we don’t pay taxes, building maintenance, homeowner insurance, water, sewer, snow removal or lawn maintenance as we did in our former home.

All these things added up to more than we currently pay in our monthly maintenance fee here.

We came here 4 years ago, in our early 60’s, and this past fall Cletus was able to do a 6-hour hike into the Adirondack Mountains and a 4-hour hike at Rickets Glen State Park to see 22 waterfalls.

No one has ever said they moved to Green Ridge too early, but many have said they wish they had moved sooner.

Come NOW! Let someone else do the work so you can do what you want to do.”

"‘Don’t wait too long’. I am so glad I followed this advice when I decided where to spend the rest of my life.

From the moment I drove onto the grounds of Green Ridge Village, I felt very much at ‘home’. The surrounding wooded acres and the diverse residents I met helped to make my decision. I truly love where I live. You never have to feel alone again. Nothing is too far away.

I am living a maintenance free and, most importantly, active life with trips, lectures, activities, groups, volunteering, etc.”

Green Ridge Village, why did we choose thee?  Let us count the ways:

Your natural beauty—trees, lawns, Big Spring Creek, birds and deer, rolling farmland, mountains cradling Cumberland Valley

Your clever land use—back yards so private we can’t see anyone else’s deck or terrace from our own

Your beautiful and efficient houses—comfortable, convenient, everything inside fresh and new

Your community—caring and smart staff; friendly and interesting residents of varied backgrounds, combining to create a family atmosphere

Your cultural amenities —easy access to libraries, shopping, churches, colleges, the state capital

Green Ridge Village, after a few months, why are we glad to be here?

The quiet peace of the campus, welcome from everyone we encounter;  a chance to make a difference here;  the caring service of the maintenance department; warm ambience in the dining room, excellent food, with cheerful, competent servers; opportunities to exercise body (walking trails, Fitness Center, gardening) , spirit, and mind (Bible study and other intellectual pursuits); and the certainty that we have more delights yet to discover at Green Ridge Village.

"Tell me the landscape in which you live, and I will tell you who you are."

My mother has been a resident of Swaim Health Center at Green Ridge Village for a little over two years, and I thank God every day that she is able to live in such a well-run and caring community.

Dealing with mom’s dementia and advancing age has been challenging; there are always new issues that arise. The staff at Green Ridge Village has been consistently supportive and proactive in addressing her needs and my concerns. I appreciate their persistence and follow-through when a problem doesn’t have an easy solution.

I also appreciate the effort to keep mom’s daily life as normal and stimulating as possible, despite her inability to participate actively.  A range of activities allows her to be included, occupied and entertained, even when all she can do is observe.

In addition, the staff at Green Ridge Village does an excellent job of making an institution feel like home. The health center building, like the entire campus, is clean and beautiful. The dining room is friendly and the food is fresh and nutritious.

I really believe that my mother’s health, comfort and dignity come first at Green Ridge Village. It means everything to me to know she is safe and content when I cannot be with her.
